We know it’s still (a bit) cold out, but Spring will be here before you know it and we all know what that means…more time outside! And with a trampoline (and trampolines games) awaiting in the backyard, you can always count on a bouncin’ good time.
Trampolines provide tons of fun by just jumping till your heart’s content. But there are plenty of games to play on a trampoline as well. Playing games on a trampoline isn’t just a fun past time, it’s actually a full-blown exercise guaranteed to get your heart racing and calories burning! Plus as an added bonus, it’s a great way to develop coordination, body control, and movement skills. Games are fun to play with any crowds, big or small. Trampolines games can also be used as a fun family game night! Below are some games that are guaranteed to get your kids jumping:
POPCORN
And I’m not talking about the snack you eat! For this game, someone sits in the middle of the trampoline with their knees tucked into their chest and their arms around their knees nice and tight! Then the other person(s) will jump, trying to get the person in the middle to come undone, or trying to “pop the popcorn”. Once the middle person is no longer in a “popcorn” position and lets go of their legs, then he or she is popped! Once the popcorn is popped, you then switch roles.
FLIP THE BACON
Bacon is similar to Popcorn, but in this game, only one player jumps while the other players lie on the jumping surface. The players lying down must try and stay stiff as a board on their backs. The object of the game is for the jumper to try and “flip” the bacon (i.e., get the players to flip over). Once a player is “flipped” he or she is out of the game and must exit the mat. The game is over when all “bacons” have flipped. If the jumper gives up, the remaining “bacons” win the game!
POISON
Place numerous balls, stuffed animals, balloons or whatever you would like on the trampoline (non-sharp objects of course: we don’t want anyone getting hurt!). For this game, the objects on the trampoline are “poison” and must be avoided! When someone is touched by the object, they have been poisoned and must get off the trampoline. The last person left on the trampoline is the sole survivor and wins!
HOT POTATO
All players start on the trampoline and must be jumping at all times throughout the game. To begin, one player will throw a ball to another player on the trampoline. Players must catch the ball to proceed in the game. Somebody is out of the game if they drop it, stop jumping to catch the ball or fail to catch it in any way. Keep playing until there is only one player left standing!
BUBBLEWRAP
Gone are the times when you used to throw away bubble wrap from a large package! Next time you receive it, lay it flat on the trampoline and let your kids have at it! Children always get a kick out of popping bubble wrap with their hands, so you know they will love jumping on it!
CHALK
Using chalk on a trampoline is a game changer! Use chalk to draw hopscotch, squiggly lines to follow, an obstacle course, or even a twister board! With chalk, the possibilities are endless but guaranteed to create a fun activity! To start over or clean the surface, all you need is a garden hose.
SPRINKLERS
Perfect for a hot, summers day. All you have to do is place a sprinkler under the trampoline. It’s really that easy, and kids always have a blast. Sprinklers are a perfect way to cool off and have some fun!
As always, we recommend taking precautions to make sure everyone has a fun and SAFE jumping experience when playing games. Players should never jump too close to a player who is lying on the mat, and be extra careful when jumping with much smaller players. Safety first!
